Hello Helay

Helay, a customizable hijab company, recently sent me their military style scarf to try out. When I received the package in the mail, it came wrapped delicately in black tissue with sweet little bow held in place by a sticker, along with a personalized tag. The scarf itself is very thin and see-through, so it must be worn with an undercap/underscarf. The hijab isn't very wide which you'll either like or dislike. If you just want to keep the design in the front and have the rest basically tucked away, then it's easily doable with this scarf. If you like your scarves longer and larger, then perhaps asking them to make the size bigger would be best for you. The color was bright and the velvet ribbon and gold button details gorgeous. I actually wore the scarf with my Hijab House Sail dress, which complemented the scarf perfectly. 

Malalay created Helay once she began wearing hijab and realized there really wasn’t much of a choice out there in terms of hijab styles. Helay is actually an Afghani word “synonymous with style, charm and elegance, which [she] aims to echo in Helay scarves.” Born and raised in London where she is currently in college, Malalay designs and sells her unique scarves through Helay’s facebook page as her website is currently under construction.

The only issue I had with the scarf is that it was difficult to get the design to lay straight across the chest. If you pin it to your clothes on both sides, the issue is solved. For me, it's definitely not an everyday scarf, but for that special occasion where you want to make more of an effort, it's perfect!
